As expected, tourism has experienced another mini boom as the The Players Championship brought record tourism to the beaches and greater Jacksonville area earlier this month. The annual golf tournament attracts thousands of spectators who require lodging at local beach area hotels and all across the city.
On average, the city experienced an 18% increase in hotel bookings in 2016 from the prior year. No doubt, based on forecasts, this year's tourism results will prove to be much higher when results are calculated for 2017.
Not only does The Players Championship attract golf fans, but it offers a large gathering for executives who seek business opportunities and have the opportunity to see Jacksonville's business and coastal resorts as a great location for relocating and conducting business.
